BIOGRAPHY
His work experience in the U.K includes appearances on radio and television shows such as:
Radio - RADIO ONE, TONY BLACKBURN SHOW, LIVE FROM THE PARIS THEATRE - LONDON, LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL.
Television - GOLDEN SHOT, FIRST-TIMERS and THE MORECOMBE AND WISE SHOW.
From 1966 through 1971/2 was side man with British Rock legend Marty Wilde, as his drummer and also performed with the symphony orchestra and as accompanist with various U.K. artists for C.S.E. tours
in Europe, Scandanavia, Middle East and Far East. In Italy, Germany and Peter also performed as a solo entertainer.
During the Spring of '71 at a session in London Peter was approached by John Coletta and Tony Edwards the management for Deep Purple to be the replacement for Ian Gillan who was leaving the band.
Peter started recording tracks at Kingsway studios in the summer of '71 under the direction of Ian Paice. Later as things turned out Dave Coverdale and Glen Hughes joined instead. But at the end of the day, a great honor indeed.
1972 found himself in Europe with a 6 piece outfit playing US bases, the Papagallo St. Tropaz, The Piper Club Rome (owned by Frank Sinatra) and continued in the European scene for the next two years.
In May '74 got a call from Terry Meredith to form an outfit for 6 month gig in S.Africa.
Peter arrived in South Africa in June 1974 to perform with COPPERFIELD, who are remembered for their hit singles : "SO YOU WIN AGAIN", "PILOT OF THE AIRWAVES" and "ROCK AND ROLL SINGER".
Other work experience in S.A. includes: Peter, along with ex-wife and partner Barbara Puren owned and operated,
* The Mixer Theatre, Melville. 1998/9
* The Blueberry Hill Theatre, Honeydew. 1999/2000
* During 2002/2003 was the associate to Barbara Anne Puren owner of The Stage Door Theatre, Melville.
* And from Oct 2004 to Oct 2005, owned and operated New Melville Theatre.
