BIOGRAPHY
Cherise hails from Durban, matriculating at
Northlands Girls High School where she was
awarded Honours for Music. Cherise was a member
of the Kwa Zulu Natal Youth Choir which toured
to Europe representing SA in an international choir competition.
After school she worked extensively for the Barnyard Theatres
touring in shows such as 'Roll Over Beethoven', 'Piano Boys',
'Glory Days', 'Rock Around the Clock', 'Walking in Memphis'
and 'Born to Run', to name just a few.
In 2006 Cherise made her move to Johannesburg where she branched
out and worked for Tyrone Watkins (of Strictly Come Dancing fame)
in 'Mardi Gras' at the Carousel, and for 'Carlo Spettu' in Frenzy
at Carnival City. She then made her debut at the
legendary Soundstage in Richard Lorings 'Girtalk 007' where she
got rave reviews. Next on Cherise's agenda was to conquer
Musical theatre and she subsequently obtained the Lead role
of Annette in the West End musical 'Saturday Night Fever', a
role for which she received a Naledi Award Nomination.
Cherise went on to play another lead role in
the West End version of 'Grease the Musical' in Cape town,
Johannesburg, and after which, she toured with 'Grease' to
both Hong Kong and New Zealand.
