Our aim is to get more people supporting Theatre (and Live Performances in general). We have many diluted cultures in South Africa, so unless we make an effort to support Theatre we run the risk of creating a Euro-American half breed quick-fix crazed TV worshipping culture with faded suttle traces of Africa.

All Theatre is `good', even if you disagree with its content. We hope you will go into the Theatres and challenge whatever the directors, casts and crew are communicating to you.

WHY?

A live performance gives jobs to Crew (lights, sound, stage, fly men etc) also make-up artists, costume designers, electricians, director, actors, ticket people, Theatre staff, advertisers, street pole advert people, restaurants near or in the Theatre, food & drink vendors, magazines, newspapers, television, clothing stores, clubs, Tourism offices and much, much more. We believe a single live performance creates more than double its worth in job creation and spin-off revenue. If you're still asking why you should support Live Performances...

The Theatre SA Online website will compliment your efforts to support Theatre in South Africa by providing more useful information about your favorite Performers on South African stages. By supporting us you will be doing the usual contribution to alleviating crime etc but you will also be contributing to Cultural Growth - that almost forgotten life skill. Imagine a generation of cultured youth!
